Mindfulness at Livingroomyoga
These days you hear more and more about Mindfulness in Business as well as in private context. But what is Mindfulness and what can it do for you? Mindfulness means being aware of physical experiences, feelings and thoughts from moment to moment. It is a skill which can be trained. And it can help you to cope differently with stress, chronical pain or other discomfort. You will receive practical tools to deal with a full agenda, stress and finding a balance between work and family life. The following animation clearly demonstrates what Mindfulness is about.
Jon Kabat-Zinn, who was working as a biomedical scientist, founded in 1979 the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts Medical School, where he developed an 8-week course that would later come to be known as Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR). Since then, MBSR has improved the lives of countless individuals suffering with stress, pain and chronic illness. He managed to take Mindfulness out of the Buddhist context and make it accessible for the Western world. Kabat-Zinn is connected to the “Center for Mindfulness” at the University of Massachusetts Medical School and there has been done a lot of scientific research to the effectiveness of this training. The results are very impressive and the Mindfulness Training has been spread all over the world.
Livingroom Yoga and Mindfulness offers this 8 weeks MBSR Training so that you can implement these tools in your daily life and experience more rest, peace and space to do those things that important for you.
8 weeks MBSR Training Program
During the course of 8 weeks you will meet within a group for 2½ hours each week and practice different mindfulness and meditation exercises. These will help you to see clearly how you are treating yourself. By providing a clear structure you will learn to apply the theory of Mindfulness into your daily life. You will receive a reader and audio files so that you can practice at home. The following themes will be part of the program:
- To recognize Automatic reactions and patterns
- Exploration of obstacles
- To become aware of and to respect your limits
- To recognize stress and how to handle it
- Learn to make choices which support you
- Observe thoughts and lessen their impact
- Apply and integrate Mindfulness in your daily life
A silence day will be part of the MBSR Training. Everything that you have learned will be jointly practiced and it is a beautiful opportunity to deepen your Mindfulness practice.

The 8 weeks MBSR Training takes place on Sunday morning from 10 – 12.30 hrs. As soon as the next course is scheduled, it will be placed on the website. You are always welcome to contact Livingroom Yoga & Mindfulness about the next course or in case you want to join a Mindfulness Workshop.
